Someone has asked me recently: “What are the tools which happy people use to achieve their goals and maintain their attitude? Here is the answer.
14 Tools of Superb Happy People
Before I explain the first seven tools today, I would like to ask you a question:
What Does Happiness mean To You?
The reason for this question is obvious: everyone has their own definition of happiness. it may be money, career, family or fun time, sometimes the spiritual life. Whatever it is, always remember about your own definition of happiness.
1. Happy People Know When To Stay And When To Leave
When you are a happy person, you know exactly when you should change employers, start a company or close your business. You have good intuition and despite opposing forces, are not afraid to make hard choices.
Although it is obvious, you might ask me “How to do it?” Well, use your mind, your biggest asset. Observe, create and correct. Sometimes the decision may be difficult, but never give up. Use your experience or in the worst case, ask people for help. But remember, the final decision is always yours.
2. Happy People Are Willing To Fail
There is a reason for it. Failure is often a seed of success. Before you learn how to walk or write, you fail many times, falling or scribbling, making mistakes in grammar, spelling and punctuation. The same applies to every area of life so that never be afraid of failing.
All happy people know that it does not come easy when they will succeed at anything. You have to be willing to learn from each failure, as it will help them make better decisions that lead to success later. While many people give up after failing at something, a successful person will persevere and is always happy in the end.
3. They Set Realistic Goals and Work On Them
Successful people wake up and they have already planned their day. Their goals are very focused, big yet obtainable and are aligned to their strengths. It brings them happiness and self-fulfilment.

Unfortunately, unsuccessful and therefore unhappy people are scrambling to figure out what they need to do next. You have to know what you are capable of and invest all of your efforts in it, avoiding your weaknesses.
4. Happy People Know That Luck Is In Their Own Hands
Luck is derived from hard work over time and positioning yourself for success. You will not randomly get lucky. Successful people know that and will do at least one thing every single day. Therefore, they put themselves in a better position to get lucky and then use that luck to grow.
How many times do you reflect on your daily activities, your goals so that they contribute to your life? What effort do you make to achieve your goals? Are you doing your best to get lucky and in turn become even happier?
5. Happy People Do More Than They Are Asked For
View your job descriptions as just the beginning of what you can do with your job. After you have completed your mandatory tasks, you will always ask to take on more projects that challenge them. Be even willing to take on the tedious work that no one else wants to do in order to be a team player.
Your commitment will infect other people around you. Of course, there is a risk of overusing your generosity and you also need to remember about balancing your life. Work is not all. Yet whenever you can, commit 110%.
6. They Make Change Instead Of Being Affected By It
Happy people are not waiting around to be affected by economic trends. You should be the one who is creating the trends and making things happen. Make change instead of being affected by it. Don’t wait around to be affected by economic trends. You should create the trends and make things happen.
Be proactive. I will repeat again, use your mind, experience, resources or other people’s help to overcome the challenges brought by changes. It is always better to do anything, even if you failed because then you know that at least you have tried.
7. They Take Accountability For Themselves And Their Actions
You should not rely only on other people in order to get the job done. Instead, look inwards and try to find the solutions, while leveraging your current assets. If you make a mistake, own up to it and immediately think of ways that you can improve next time, not making the same mistake twice.
Always take responsibility for your part of the job, even if the results also depend on other people. Commit more than 100% doing your part. If other people fail, you are also responsible for telling them how to correct the situation.
In a Nutshell
Summing up, happy people use many tools to be successful and maintain their happiness, whatever happens. They set realistic goals, work on them, can make decisions, are not afraid to fail, give 110% and take responsibility for their actions and decisions.
