It might sound simple, but it actually involves commitment and hard work. It may concern your career, personal development or having a happy relationship with someone. The good news is that once you begin, the results start coming almost instantly. So how can you achieve personal success?
1. Look Into the Mirror
The only person responsible for your success is the person staring back at you. Smile! Bear in mind that no one else is the cause of your happiness or to blame for your short comings. It is not your fault that you have inherited negative thinking or self-limiting beliefs from your parents of the society. But what matters is the action taken by you, to handle them. Happy people take full responsibility for their actions.
2. Smile Back at Your Reflection
What kind of person do you want to be – a cheerful, optimistic, and forward thinking successful parson or a doom loser? The choice is yours. If you think you don’t have anything to smile about, smile anyway. It is proved that changing the mimic instantly improves your mood and relieves stress. It’s hard to have a negative thought while you are smiling. It is also true that positive thoughts drive out negative thoughts because our mind can hold only one kind of thoughts at time and you can substitute one kind of them with the other. A positive person maintains happy relationships with others, whether it is your work or family.
3. Work on Positive Self-Esteem
It is the foundation for happiness. Do your best to feel good about yourself and your abilities, achievements and potential and stop dwelling on your mistakes. Remind and praise yourself on your past accomplishments. Congratulate yourself for taking positive steps toward a more successful future. You cannot treat other people with respect if you don’t respect yourself. They also cannot respect you when your self-esteem is low.
4. Believe in Yourself
You are here for a purpose. God doesn’t make extras just to fill in the scenery. Find your mission and begin working to fulfill it. Therefore, you will be able to work efficiently, using the most of your potential and talents. The more committed you become to your work, the more people will respect you and the more you will believe in yourself.
5. Associate with Happy People And Do What They Do
It is said that when you spend most of your time with someone, you become similar to this person. Facing making choices, follow the choices that a successful person would make. Ask successful people for advice. There is no need to experience fear of criticism or rejection. For example, what to do with your financial surplus – invest it or go on a holiday.
6. Desire To Be a Happy Person
Decide that right now and commit to being successful. However, define first what success means to you. For some it may be successful career, or the others a happy family. 7. Do What You Are Best
Achieve the most satisfaction in life. There is no reason to stay stuck doing things that are frustrating, boring, unhealthy, unproductive, demeaning or unfulfilled. When something brings you pain, stop doing that. Cut contacts with toxic people, finish unhealthy relationships, even if they last for years.
8.Avoid Unhappy People
Under any circumstances associate with negative people. They are toxic, because they destroy relationships instead of building them. Toxic people are vampires that can live only by draining the life from their victims. The odds are that they will pull you down faster than you can lift them up. You can always choose to stay away from all the negative people in your life. In particular, avoid all the whiners, complainers and blamers. Remember to “Protect your good image from the eyes of negative viewers, who may look at your good appearance with an ugly fiendish eye, and ruin your positive qualities with their chemical infested tongues.”
Awaken Happiness. Look at the mirror when you get up tomorrow. Smile and decide to spend the day in a positive way, believing in yourself. Write your decision in a diary, like an appointment with yourself.
