Become the Director of Your Life Using These 4 Steps

How to define your life direction? There are four steps which you need to take to be absolutely clear about your life path.

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.”

Brian Tracy

The life direction is the sequence of goals which belong to one of the fields of life.

For example, you can be good at history, study history on the third level and do research in history, work in a museum or heritage centre. History is your direction.

The same may apply to a job – you studied marketing and management, became a junior clerk, then the junior manager and a senior manager. In this case, management determines your career

Finding someone, getting married, having children and follow their growth, then having grandchildren describes the “family and relationships” life category.

  1. Write Your Goals Down

What goals have you achieved during your life in your life categories?  What about your health, mental health, finance, relationships, career, spiritual life, personal development? For example – what school you have graduated, what job(s) you have found, in which places you have lived, what was your income – how did it change during your life, what partners did you have.

  2. Find similarities.

Fort example – you could choose the same kind of boyfriend or your spouse is similar to your father. You could rent 3 flats so far or later moved to the house. You could work in a corporation, being promoted within a time, but in the same department.

  3. Name the directions in each life category.

Define if you are happy with that. If not, what would you like to change. Make the list right now in your journal of transformation.

  4. Define what goals you can set for the future.

If you are working on self-development, and this year is working on assertiveness, what will be your next skill to master next year, in two years’ time? Think of your career, financial goals and health. Write down the goals for the next year in each field of life.
